Collaboration

Since the late 1980s Michèle Fuirer has specialised in working in the museum and gallery sector to engage audiences in informal learning through modern and contemporary art.  She has devised and led art workshops, projects and training for a wide ranging audience, working directly in response to exhibitions and collections of modern and contemporary art. Groups worked with include early learners, families, adults in formal and informal education, teachers, schools and local authorities. Michèle has written and presented research on gallery learning at a number of conferences in the UK.

A conversation with Michael and Margaret Hussey. A short film produced for Tate Learning based on a series of art workshops at Tate during which Michael and others worked with Michele to create better conversations about Contemporary art.  Collaboration with Lois Norman, Tate and Mariusz Pozierak, Tate.

Drawn to Dialogue

Michèle Fuirer and Sheila Grandison jointly planned and delivered the Drawn to Dialogue workshops as part of Tate Modern’s Community Learning programme, bringing together two groups of participants. The work was devised as a collaboration and an ongoing enquiry into the nature of conversation in the gallery as a distinct form of action, interaction and attention.
